The Problem

I've been an IT consultant in the healthcare sector for 20+ years now. One thing that has been a pain point for just about every client I've worked with has been that of managing and maintaining their policies and procedures books. Often there was more than one copy of the book, and invariably the policies contained in them would be of differing versions or revision levels.

Additionally, healthcare regulations require a yearly audit of the policies, and that is not only difficult to do with paper, it's nearly impossible to prove it's being done (i.e. for an auditor).

The Solution

Policy Manager Pro started out as an attempt to solve those basic problems, and soon grew into a useful tool for many of my clients. Here are some of the key features:

• Ensures version integrity across the facility - i.e. everyone is looking at the latest version of the policies and procedures
• Provides email reminders to managers, as well as visual cues within the software, helping them review each policy on an annual basis and thus maintain compliance to the regulations regarding policies and procedures for healthcare organizations
• Quick and easy access to policy versions by date - this is extremely helpful during audits when the auditor asks what was your policy on a specific date in the past.
• Assign users tasks to acknowledge that they have read and understand a policy or set of policies
• Reports to demonstrate compliance and department buy-in/compliance
